Damn. Great essay. Got me all riled up before another marathon doctor day. The authority of “care providers” to hold people in insane circular arguments is so wild. They force you into some crazy game and then seethe with obvious disdain when you play by the same rules they use for themselves. Neither submission nor assertion will reliably get you what you need. Truly, care providers should not be invested with this kind of authority. I’m not even convinced they want it.
truly i have heard too many nursing students and underpaid walgreens doctors talk about how their patients are all self-destructive idiots to ever believe that any medpro is a trustworthy authority ever again, at least not unless they go out of their way to prove it. that said, it's also very obvious to me when doctors take their patients seriously and/or are truly doing their best in the face of a lot of red tape, at least enough that i don't think all doctors are cops by default. good luck with upcoming doctor stuff, hopefully I didn't add to the inevitable stress about it!!!
